Metastatic Brain Cancer Prognosis

Like many other brain cancer, metastatic brain cancer prognosis can be good if detected earlier and treated with the right medications. Cancer medication has been advancing and nowadays it is so much easier to get brain cancer remedies than days ago. Metastatic as secondary brain cancer that comes after some other cancer cells growth can be detected earlier if the patient has been undergoing intensive treatment for his previous cancer. Some of the cancers that can draw in to secondary of metastatic brain cancer are lung cancer, breast cancer, kidney cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer, or benign melanoma.

As brain cancer that affects the intracranial cavity of the brain, metastatic brain cancer is hard to be recognized with bare eyes. Only when the medical personnel gives intensive observation which include MRI or scan, will the patient can be assured that he is suffering from metastatic brain cancer. Metastatic brain cancer can only happen because of the expansion of other part of the body’s cancer so it will be easier for patient with intensive care to know the progress of the secondary tumor in their brain. The best metastatic brain cancer prognosis will be attained with surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy.

As long as detected earlier, there is a chance to reduce the growth of cancer cell in the brain. Radiotherapy is a procedure that is done to patient by radiating the harmful cancer cells and leaving the normal brain cell. Chemotherapy is a selective medication which is done by giving drugs which are given to patient to survive from malignant cancer. However, not all chemotherapy can help all patients to survive from cancer. Chemo does well only for about 20% of the patients with advanced cancer. This way metastatic brain cancer prognosis with chemo might also good for some metastatic brain cancer.
